From Russia to England to Canada to Costa Rica
I totally forgot all about my blog after we left Russia back in October. Oops. We left Russia haphazardly due to some last-minute family stuff and decided not to go back….which was good for my sanity (long hours of work), but bad for our bank accounts as we hadn’t actually be paid yet for the month of work before we left. Oops again. We also lost a tonne of our belongings (most...

Pree-vyet eez Rahs-see-yah!
I suppose I should change the name of my blog from Soko-Loco….to Rooskey-Loco…but it just doesn’t have the same ring. We have officially jumped ship from South Korea to Russia, so I’m currently writing from Tyumen.
We’re in Tyumen for the next month before we head off to Nizhnevartovsk for another 7 months or so. So far our time in Russia has been, well,...

After a long blog hiatus...
I realized today I haven’t written since…well, forever. I guess life has just been a little complicated in the past months to sit down and write. I haven’t even had the time to write/post pictures of our month holiday in Vietnam, which by the way, was amazing. I’ll try to post some pictures later. We basically went down the entire coast, saw a lot of great sites, ate...

A Light at the End of the Tunnel
I again profusely apologize that it’s been a good month since I last wrote. I’m not sure where the time goes, but it does. Anyway, let’s see. Second week of April was my ‘quarter century’ birthday. It’s funny how at home I feel so old compared to everyone, but here I’m a ‘baby’ relatively, so I enjoyed my friends’ envy at my so-called...

March Madness
Again, I apologize for being lazy and not keeping up on my half of the deal, which is writing about what’s going on over here. It’s been a ridiculous couple of weeks.
The last time I wrote, it was just coming up on Jeremy’s birthday. The week before his big day I decided I would make him a cake from scratch for his birthday party at the German pub. I enlisted the help of my...
Snap back to reality...
Well, we’ve officially gotten through our first week back to a ‘regular’ schedule. It was, to say the least, grueling. Both Jeremy and I have more hours than ever before, and since Chosun LEI has decided to split the two hour credit classes into two one-hour classes each week, we’re basically living on campus.
Two days a week I have 9am-8pm work days, and the other three...

Tour de Korea;)
The past 5 days have been a blur of Korean cities and friends - a tour de Korea if you will…. Saturday morning I set off to Daejon with Sharon to visit our friend Annie and get our first bout of laser hair removal. We got into Daejon around lunchtime, pretty nervous about the experience awaiting us at the laser clinic. We had a bite at TGIF’s with Annie, and to soothe our nerves had...
Back on vacation for a week. Starting....now!
Another week has passed fairly uneventfully here in Gwangju. On Tuesday I was excited for a lunch date out with Jenna, and in my excitement forgot to rationally approach my malaria meds - instead, I took the pill with my insubstantial left-over pizza breakfast. By the time I got to Jenna’s house, I started to have some intense heartburn, and by the time I got home from lunch (which I...
Rediscovering the planet Earth....
This weekend began in the most lazy of fashions - I slept ‘late’ Saturday (9am, whoohooo) while Jeremy had another trip to the dentist for more work…he is a perfect example of why your parents are so hard on you to brush your teeth….but I digress. We had a pseudo lazy day, although I did manage to clean the entire apartment (and I do mean entire), as well as prep...
Don't buy plungers from the cheon won store...
The last two days have been a blur of wine and skype dates with friends back home. I figured that since I have copious amounts of spare time at the moment, none of which is filled with any productive hobbies or endeavours, that I would try my best to catch up with all my friends who I’m beginning to fall out of touch with.
It’s always awesome to hear friends’ voices after a...

Back to the Grind in SoKo...
Well, I’ve decided to finally start writing a blog again…which is surprising because I failed terribly at providing updates my first go-around, but as I’ve found it’s nearly impossible to skype with everyone at home on a regular basis, I thought I’d give it a go and get a fresh start on a new blog site…so here I am.
I’m back working at Chosun, or not...
